One-Page Business Case

Write a concise business case for purchasing a project management tool.

The Scenario

A 20-person agency manages projects using email, WhatsApp, and shared Google Sheets. Deadlines are missed weekly. The operations manager wants to buy a project management tool (Asana, Monday.com, or similar) but needs approval from the managing director.

The Brief

Write a one-page business case that convinces the MD to approve the purchase. Be concise — one page means every sentence must earn its place.

Deliverables

  • A one-page business case with: Problem Statement, Proposed Solution, Benefits (quantified where possible), Costs, and Recommendation
  • At least 2 quantified benefits (e.g., "reduce missed deadlines by 60%, saving estimated 15 hours/week of rework")
  • A simple ROI calculation showing payback period

Submission Guidance

A one-page business case is not a summary of a longer document. It is a standalone argument. The MD should be able to say yes or no after reading it.
