Accessibility Audit of a Landing Page

Audit a landing page against WCAG 2.1 AA and identify 5 failures with fixes.

The Scenario

A startup's landing page has never been tested for accessibility. The marketing team says "it looks fine" but has never checked colour contrast, alt text, or keyboard navigation. You run a basic audit.

The Brief

Audit a hypothetical landing page against WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria. Identify at least 5 failures and propose a fix for each.

Deliverables

  • A description of the hypothetical landing page (hero section, features, testimonials, CTA, footer)
  • At least 5 WCAG 2.1 AA failures with the specific success criterion violated (e.g., 1.4.3 Contrast)
  • A proposed fix for each failure with effort estimate (quick fix vs redesign)

Submission Guidance

The most common WCAG failures are: missing alt text, insufficient colour contrast, no keyboard focus indicators, and missing form labels. Start there.
