Comparative UX Audit

Compare the same flow across 3 competing products using Nielsen's heuristics.

The Scenario

A product team is redesigning their sign-up flow. Before starting, they want to understand how competitors handle the same task. Your job is to audit 3 competitors and extract the best patterns.

The Brief

Pick a common user flow (sign-up, checkout, or onboarding). Audit 3 competing products that all have this flow. Score each against Nielsen's 10 heuristics and recommend which patterns to adopt.

Deliverables

  • A comparison table: Product × Heuristic score (1-5) for at least 6 of Nielsen's 10 heuristics
  • Three specific UX patterns worth stealing, with annotated descriptions of how each competitor implements them
  • Two anti-patterns to avoid, with explanation of why they fail

Submission Guidance

Do not just list heuristic violations. The value is in the comparative lens — what does Product A do better than B, and why? Be specific about screens and interactions.

Submit Your Work

Your submission is graded against the rubric on the right. If you pass, you get a public Badge URL you can share on LinkedIn. There is no draft save, so work offline first and paste your finished response here.
